Asphalt repair
Asphalt repair and patching in North Georgia
Potholes, edge breaks, and alligator cracking often start below the surface. We focus on the failed section so the repair addresses the cause, not only the blemish.

How we repair
A repair built on a sound base
01
Diagnose the failure
We inspect the surface and the area around it to tell surface wear apart from base movement or moisture damage.
02
Saw-cut and remove
The damaged asphalt is cut to clean, straight edges and removed to the depth where the base has failed.
03
Compact the base
The exposed base is prepared and compacted so the new patch has a stable foundation beneath it.
04
Patch with hot-mix asphalt
Hot-mix asphalt is placed and compacted to sit level with the surrounding pavement, closing the area to moisture.
Surface wear or structural failure
Surface wear can be sealed. A failed base needs repair.
Fine cracking and fading usually point to surface wear. Sinking, rutting, and wide breaks often mean the base beneath has moved or lost support. Knowing which one you have decides the right fix, and we will tell you plainly after an inspection.

Will sealcoating fix a pothole?
No. Sealcoating is surface maintenance and does not rebuild missing asphalt or repair a failed base. Potholes and sinking areas should be evaluated for patching before sealcoating.
Can cracks be filled instead of patched?
Some individual cracks can be cleaned and filled. Widespread alligator cracking or movement may point to a larger failure. We review the condition and explain whether crack filling, patching, or replacement paving fits the damaged area.
